SUMMARY:Long Reef Walking Group
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun-filled morning\, walking and exploring the beautiful Long Reef headland! Lace up your sneakers and get ready to soak in the stunning coastal views and fresh ocean breeze. \nThe group will meet every Monday at 9 am on the grass at the southern side of the Long Reef Golf Club. We will head eastbound along the paved path toward the headland. There is a slight incline which is worth it for the view. Once we reach the top\, we can soak in the spectacular view and with any luck\, we may see bird life\, hang gliders\, dolphins\, and whales. We will continue along the trail atop the coastal cliffs toward Long Reef Beach. Once the trail reaches the beach\, we will stop for coffee at Butterbox Cafe\, before continuing our walk along a wooden boardwalk through the bushland. The path will take us through to Griffith Park where we will finish our walk back at our starting point. \nWhether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out\, this event is perfect for all fitness levels. The track is an easy walk with a slight incline at the beginning. It’s a 3 km circuit and should take about 1-1.5 hours. \nDon’t forget to bring your water bottle\, sunscreen\, and comfortable walking shoes. \nJoin the Long Reef Walking Group and let’s make unforgettable memories together. See you there! \n\n\n\nImportant information\nWeather\, safety and responsibility \nIt is important that you make your own decisions regarding your comfort and safety. This is particularly relevant to weather and walk suitability. The decision to undertake the event is at your discretion and by registering for the event you deem yourself fit and capable of safely participating in the event. \nFor example\, some might be comfortable walking in light rain with a rain jacket\, others may be less comfortable due to the lower visibility or increased slipping hazard. In poor weather days there may only be one or two people who show up to complete that week’s walk. The decision to do the walk is left to personal choice. \nHowever\, if we meet up and decide that the walk will be no fun\, the backup plan is to go for a coffee at a local cafe! \nParking \nThere is plenty of parking along Anzac Ave. Please check parking rules before leaving your car.

SUMMARY:Belong Book Club B
DESCRIPTION:Join the Belong Book Club once a month to discuss\, and share your passion of reading with like minded people in your community. \nThis month’s book: Framed by James Grisham \nPlease Note: At the end of each session\, you will be provided with a physical copy of the book to be discussed and returned at the following session. Alternately\, you can source your own physical copy of the book. Spots are limited to a maximum of 10 people so get in quick. \nHow does it work? \nThe Belong Book Club B will meet at Warringah Library on the forth Monday of every month. The library has a large selection of book club kits for the group to choose from. Each kit contains 10 copies of the book and\, in most cases\, a list of possible discussion topics. At the end of each session\, the group will choose and receive a copy of the book to be discussed the following month. Each member is responsible for returning their copy of the book at the following meet-up before receiving the new one. \nPlease note all books MUST be returned together. Please do not return the book directly to the library. \nIf you are new to the group or unable to attend a session\, you can always source your own copy of the book to be discussed. The title of the next book to be discussed is available on the event listing. \nWho can come? \nWe ask that anyone interested in joining\, sign up to become a Belong Club member. This way we have everyone’s details to make sure the book is returned on time to avoid any late fees. If you are not yet a member\, please sign up here – https://proveda.com.au/community-programs/belong-club/. \nWhat happens if I can’t make it to return the book? \nYou will need to contact us in advance to let us know you can’t make it. Each member is responsible for returning their copy of the book before receiving the new one. \nCar Parking: Free 3 hour parking is available in the Westfield Warringah Mall car park. The library is located on Level 2 of the mall\, with the direct access from the Yellow Car Park Rooftop (P5)\, entry via Old Pittwater Road. The library is spread across one floor and has an accessible entrance. The closest disability amenities are available on the ground floor below Warringah Mall Library and accessible via the lift near Hoyts Cinema. \n\n\nAbout the host \nVal is a driven\, community-minded individual with a love for reading\, gardening\, walking and board games. Val loves all kinds of books – from historical fiction\, to fantasy\, to modern realist books. \nA major part of Val’s life at the moment is Curly Community Garden\, a garden she’s been heavily involved with since its inception in 2016. Her favourite part of the garden is the way it brings together so many people from the community and gives joy to many peoples’ lives – from garden members to passers by. \nVal loves walking\, and you can often see her on her favourite walking routes between Dee Why and Freshwater. She also likes to explore other parts of the great outdoors on family outings with her two adult children and husband. \nAt home\, Val and her family love to play board and card games\, and have a huge collection that takes up a few shelves of their storage closet.

SUMMARY:Walk and Talk
DESCRIPTION:The Belong Club invites anyone to come and participate in the Belong Club Walking Group!\nEvery Tuesday we walk along the pathway beside the Narrabeen Lagoon\, from the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre to Jamieson Park and back. The route is about 1.8km each way\, and is estimated to take 45 minutes. \nThe up and back walk allows for people of any walking speed to participate and enjoy the walk at their own comfortable pace. Walkers often split into smaller groups naturally along the route allowing everyone to go at their preferred pace. The aim here is for everyone to be included and to have an enjoyable walk. \nOur meeting spot is to the right of the Tramshed Community Centre\, between the basketball court and kids playground. \n\nImportant information\nWeather\, safety and responsibility \nIt is important that you make your own decisions regarding your comfort and safety. The decision to do the walk is left to personal choice. \nHowever\, if we meet up and decide that the walk will be no fun\, the backup plan is to go for a coffee at a local cafe. \nParking \nThere is a carpark next to the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre with suitable free parking. Many bus routes \, including the B1\, run down Pittwatter Road and stop at Narrabeen in a convenient location for the Tramshed.

SUMMARY:Sewing Hearts\, Sharing Kindness
DESCRIPTION:Stitching Hearts of Kindness \n\nJoin us each week for a relaxing and meaningful sewing circle as we create beautiful handmade hearts from the inspiring social enterprise\, 1000 Hearts. \nLed by our wonderful volunteer Fiona\, this welcoming group will teach participants how to hand sew felt hearts using a simple blanket stitch. No sewing experience is necessary. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or have never held a needle before\, everyone is welcome. \nAs you stitch\, you’ll be part of a movement that spreads kindness\, compassion and connection throughout our community. \nOnce you’ve completed your hearts\, you can: \n\nKeep them for yourself as a reminder of kindness and care\nGive them to a friend or family member who may need encouragement\nDonate them back to Belong Club for distribution to Proveda clients who may benefit from a small act of kindness\n\nAbout 1000 Hearts\n1000 Hearts is an Australian social enterprise and community dedicated to sharing kindness through handmade hearts. Founded by Sarah in 2016\, the organisation was born from a simple idea: that small acts of love and connection can have a profound impact on people’s lives. \nEach heart is hand sewn and shared freely as a symbol of care\, compassion and hope. Find out more here. \nAbout our Volunteer \n\nFiona is a longtime resident of Pittwater. A retired Physiotherapist with a passion for all things Wellbeing. A cornerstone of wellbeing is social connection\, gratitude\, kindness and compassion. Sewing hearts with others is about connecting with kindness and compassion.\nFiona provides an opportunity to be present as an act of self care. The hearts are a symbol of compassionate care which ripples through the community.

SUMMARY:Dying to Know - Start the Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Dying to Know is a national campaign inspiring people to prepare for the inevitable – not with fear\, but with purpose\, care\, and a clear sense of legacy. \nThis year’s theme is Nobody Knows. \nNobody Knows is a cheeky\, irreverent campaign designed to expose the absurdity of keeping your end-of-life wishes a secret. Because not telling anyone your final wishes is chaotic\, confusing\, and worst of all creates guesswork and potential family division. \nVincentia Connections is offering an opportunity for you to start a conversation. \nFuneral celebrant\, Annette Tesiero\, is discussing all the things you might ask a funeral director or celebrant. \nCoordinator from the Worrigee Cemetery\, Jessica Willshire is discussing the most up-to-date options for burial and cremation. \nLocal counsellor Jane Daisley-Snow is providing information about writing an Advanced Care Plan. \nYou will have opportunity to ask questions\, and we’ll have helpful resources available.

SUMMARY:Belong Yoga Classes
DESCRIPTION:Proveda’s Belong Club weekly yoga classes at the North Balgowlah Community Centre\, are proudly supported by a generous grant from Dee Why RSL. \nWhether you’re a seasoned yogi or have never stepped on a mat before\, these sessions are for everyone. No experience is necessary\, our incredible volunteer instructors\, sourced through Power Living Yoga Australia\, are here to guide you at your own pace and tailor the class to your needs. \nWhat to Bring:\n\nA yoga mat\nA bottle of water\nComfortable clothing\nAnd most importantly\, a positive attitude!\n\nCome along to stretch\, strengthen\, and connect with your community in a supportive and inclusive environment. We can’t wait to see you there. \nAbout our Instructors \n\nLynne Johnston \nLynne is a northern beaches based yoga teacher sharing gentle\, accessible yoga with the Belong Club. With a heart for community connection and wellbeing\, Lynne understands that yoga is more than physical postures\, it’s breathing\, kindness\, and moving in ways that feel good. Trained in yinvasa\, yin and yoga nidra\, Lynne’s classes at the Belong Club will focus on slow mindful flow\, simple strength\, and deep relaxation\, welcoming all levels\, especially those seeking gentle support for body\, mind and spirit. \nFind Lynne on Instagram at @little_bird_yoga. \n\nJoe Lewis \nJoe became a yoga teacher after discovering the physical benefits for his bones and joints\, particularly his back and knees\, and the mental “side” effects of stress relief and clarity. Having completed 200-hour teacher training in San Marcos\, Guatemala\, yoga became his practice for cultivating emotional and spiritual wellbeing\, too. \nHe guides styles of vinyasa and hatha yoga in which we listen to and honour the body\, tuning into our intuition and awareness and using techniques to—literally—unwind the mind. His classes contain a blend of movement and stillness\, strength and surrender\, to nourish the body and work towards a deeper presence. \n\nSue Barbour \nSue\, the founder of Pure Wellness Yoga has completed 600 hours of training with the Himalayan Yoga Tradition. Sue teaches an integrated practice which includes\, centering\, basic relaxations\, correct breathing\, breath awareness with asanas\, and subtle-body practices of relaxation\, pranayama and deep relaxation. She is trained and has experience in yoga for arthritis and chair yoga for seniors. The focus is not performance\, it’s about being in tune with your capabilities and slowing down\, feeling what’s happening in your body. \nFind Sue on Instagram at @purewellnessyoga

SUMMARY:Death Cafe Ballarat - 27 Aug
DESCRIPTION:FREE EVENT – BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL. \nJoin us for a FREE Death Cafe on Thursday 27th August\, 2026 from 2.00pm – 3.30pm. \nHosted by Ballarat Hospice Care\, Ballarat Cemeteries\, and Grampians Region Palliative Care Consortium\, the purpose of this Death Cafe is to encourage open conversations about mortality and end-of-life matters. \nWhile all of our organisations have extensive experience supporting people at the end of life\, during bereavement\, and through grief\, our Death Cafe itself is not a counselling\, education\, or support service. \nInstead\, we have come together to provide a welcoming\, respectful space where people can gather over tea\, coffee\, and snacks to engage in open\, group-directed conversations about death and dying. Everyone is welcome\, and there is no agenda\, objective\, or intended outcome beyond creating an opportunity for conversation. \nBookings are essential as places are limited. Please scan the QR code on the poster to make your booking. \n☕ Not sure what a Death Café is\, or whether you should attend one? SUMMARY:Manly Walking Group
DESCRIPTION:The Belong Club invites anyone to come and participate in this Belong Club Walking Group that runs every Friday. \nThe route we will be walking is from Queenscliff Surf Club to Shelly Beach where we stop for a coffee at the Boat House. There is no pressure to purchase anything if you would just like to continue enjoying the good company. After our caffeine hit we head back to The Corso or all the way back to Queenscliff. \nThe planned route is a 2.4km paved path and Google maps suggest it will take about 30 minutes. On the way back it is 1.3km back to The Corso or 2.4km back to the start point at Queenscliff Surf Club. \nGroup members are welcome to split off into smaller groups or even pairs to allow everyone to go at their preferred pace. \nThe aim here is for everyone to be included and to have an enjoyable walk. \nMeeting point details: Meet outside\, undercover at the Queenscliff Surf Club\, N Steyne & Collingwood St\, Manly NSW 2095. Please note: when looking up Queenscliff Surf Club on Apple Maps\, it pins the surf club on Manly Beach. This is incorrect\, please refer to google maps for correct location.
