DESCRIPTION:As part of Dying to Know Day\, join Jacqui Williams (Doula) for a FREE community workshop exploring what matters most in life\, at end of life\, and beyond. Through guided conversation and reflection\, participants will have the opportunity to learn\, listen\, share stories\, and consider their personal values\, wishes\, and priorities — including how to have important conversations with those they care about. Morning tea and take-home resources will be provided in a warm\, supportive environment. Places are limited\, and bookings are essential. RSVPs close 31 July 2026 at 5 p.m. Venue is Victoria Point Library – upstairs Eprapah Meeting Room accessible from inside the library itself and stairs or lift available. Parking for the duration of the event – either behind the library in the large carpark area entrance Bunker Road or via Lakeside Blvd or behind Aldi. Note High St parking is time-limited parking so not suitable for this event due to the duration of the event.

DESCRIPTION:Nillumbik Shire Council’s Ageing Well Team has partnered with Northern Health Advance Care Planning and Banksia Palliative Care to host this community forum in recognition of Dying To Know Day. \nDying To Know Day encourages all Australians to develop knowledge\, skills and confidence around death\, dying and bereavement – and to support one another at the end of life. \nOur forum will be guided by MC Baci Hillyer\, who will facilitate discussion\, guide audience questions\, and support respectful and meaningful conversations throughout the evening. \nYou will hear from local and topic experts in the field of death and dying\, end-of-life care and planning\, including: \n\nNorthern Health Advance Care Planning\nDonate Life\, educating on organ donation\nBanksia Palliative Care\, local provider of community palliative care services both in-home and in a residential care setting\nDr Nick Carr\, Dying with Dignity Voluntary Assisted Dying\nCatherine Ashton\, Author and Podcaster “Don’t Be Caught Dead”\nLe Pine Funerals Eltham explaining Pre-paid funeral options\nNillumbik Shire Council Aged Care Navigation and Advocacy Officer\, presenting on the Support at Home End-of-Life pathway\n\nJoin us as an active participant or simply sit and listen as others share experiences and perspectives. DESCRIPTION:Dying to Know Day Expo 2026 aims to create a safe\, welcoming\, and community-focused environment where people can openly explore conversations around death\, dying\, grief\, ageing\, and advance care planning. Through education\, connection\, and shared experiences\, the event encourages individuals and families to approach these topics with greater confidence\, understanding\, and compassion. \nStalls and speaker sessions will be available for the community to engage in greater learning and gathering resourses.
