DESCRIPTION:Nillumbik Shire Council’s Ageing Well Team has partnered with Northern Health Advance Care Planning and Banksia Palliative Care to host this community forum in recognition of Dying To Know Day. \nDying To Know Day encourages all Australians to develop knowledge\, skills and confidence around death\, dying and bereavement – and to support one another at the end of life. \nOur forum will be guided by MC Baci Hillyer\, who will facilitate discussion\, guide audience questions\, and support respectful and meaningful conversations throughout the evening. \nYou will hear from local and topic experts in the field of death and dying\, end-of-life care and planning\, including: \n\nNorthern Health Advance Care Planning\nDonate Life\, educating on organ donation\nBanksia Palliative Care\, local provider of community palliative care services both in-home and in a residential care setting\nDr Nick Carr\, Dying with Dignity Voluntary Assisted Dying\nCatherine Ashton\, Author and Podcaster “Don’t Be Caught Dead”\nLe Pine Funerals Eltham explaining Pre-paid funeral options\nNillumbik Shire Council Aged Care Navigation and Advocacy Officer\, presenting on the Support at Home End-of-Life pathway\n\nJoin us as an active participant or simply sit and listen as others share experiences and perspectives. Let us celebrate! \nHosted by Jewelz — the Hoola Doola of Destination Death — is a queer multidisciplinary artist\, performer\, and death doula using storytelling\, art\, and humour to open up essential conversations around dying\, death\, and end-of-life planning.
