SUMMARY:Shared Reading Facilitator Taster Training
DESCRIPTION:Shared Reading volunteer facilitators required for Belong Club \nImagine a room where people feel comfortable being themselves\, speaking\, listening\, or simply being present. A place where a poem or short story helps people feel a little less alone. \nThat space is Shared Reading\, and we would love to bring Shared Reading to our Belong Club community. \nTraining to become a Shared Reading facilitator enables you to use your love of reading to gently transform loneliness in your community. You learn to select texts that resonate and use them to help people share meaningful moments with each other\, listening deeply and guiding the group with care. \nIf you’d like to know more about Shared Reading and how to get involved\, come along to our taster and information session. The session will be held at Warringah Mall Library and is a relaxed chance to experience Shared Reading for yourself and ask any questions. \n\nAbout Shared Reading \nShared Reading are a not-for-profit organisation that is pioneering the social application of bibliotherapy in Australia to help reduce social isolation\, improve mental health and strengthen our communities. Find out more.
