SUMMARY:'Nobody Knows' :: End-of-life convo for Dying to Know Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:Dying to Know Day :: Friday 8th August :: 10:30am-12pm \n\n\nJoin us for a conversation at Radius Art\, for an open and curious exploration about end-of-life matters. Dying to Know Day is a national campaign that encourages you to prepare for the inevitable\, not with fear\, but with purpose\, love\, and a sense of legacy. \nThe theme of this year’s Dying to Know Day (D2KD) is ‘Nobody Knows’. This will be a lightly facilitated discussion\, where we’ll share stories and hear different perspectives. Together we will chat about end-of-life wishes and how we can collectively speak more courageously about death and grief. \nPlease bring a small donation for the venue hire \n\nThis conversation is a safe space for First Nations mob\, queer folk and people with disabilities. If there is anything you specifically require to attend on the day – please contact me directly (contact details in post).

Come with your questions and curiosities. \nAngela Mizinska and Kelly McDonnell are Death Doulas with a shared passion for death literacy and community education. \nTogether\, they co-host in-person and virtual Death Cafés in collaboration with local councils and community groups\, creating safe\, inclusive spaces for open conversations about death\, dying\, end of life and grief. They also each host their own independent events\, bringing diverse perspectives and a wealth of experience to their facilitation practice. \nWith over 100 hours of combined experience\, Angela and Kelly are dedicated to making death a little less taboo and a lot more human.

SUMMARY:Dying to Know Day
DESCRIPTION:What’s It All About? \nWe are all impacted by death in our lives. It might be for the people we love\, or it might be our own. \nMcGlynn Hunt Funerals have organised a Dying to Know Day\, held at our premises\, 38-40 Madden Ave\, Mildura on Tuesday\, 5th August. \nD2KD seeks to inspire individuals to prepare for the inevitable not with fear\, but with purpose\, love\, and a focus on legacy. It provides a safe space designed to normalise discussions surrounding death\, dying\, and grief. This initiative encourages individuals to learn about\, engage in\, and plan for their own end-of-life experiences while also supporting others in doing the same. \nWe have invited several guest speakers who will deliver presentations and share valuable insights on end-of-life arrangements. Followed by a Q&A session. \nAttendees are encouraged to participate in an open discussion with both the speakers & MHF staff. Additionally\, visitors are invited to tour our facilities. \nTogether\, we can break down the stigma and sense of awkwardness associated with conversations about death\, dying and grief.
