SUMMARY:Dying To Know Death Café
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a morning tea as Death Doula’s create a safe\, inclusive space for open conversations about death\, dying\, end of life and grief.\n\n\nJoin us for a relaxed\, respectful\, and agenda-free conversation about all things death\, dying and end of life. A Death Café is a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds\, beliefs\, and experiences\, gather to share thoughts\, stories\, fears\, and curiosities about death. This is not grief counselling or therapy\, but a chance to connect with others over a cuppa and explore one of life’s most universal (and often avoided) topics. \nFacilitated by experienced Death Doulas\, Angela and Kelly\, this conversation is guided\, inclusive\, and gently held. Come with your questions and curiosities. \nAngela Mizinska and Kelly McDonnell are Death Doulas with a shared passion for death literacy and community education. \nTogether\, they co-host in-person and virtual Death Cafés in collaboration with local councils and community groups\, creating safe\, inclusive spaces for open conversations about death\, dying\, end of life and grief. They also each host their own independent events\, bringing diverse perspectives and a wealth of experience to their facilitation practice. \nWith over 100 hours of combined experience\, Angela and Kelly are dedicated to making death a little less taboo and a lot more human.

SUMMARY:Belong Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Join the Belong Book Club once a month to discuss\, and share your passion of reading with like minded people in your community. \nThis month’s book: Fake\, by Stephanie Wood \nPlease Note: At the end of each session\, you will be provided with a physical copy of the book to be discussed and returned at the following session. Alternately\, you can source your own physical copy of the book. \nHow does it work? \nThe Belong Book Club will meet at Warringah Library on the second Monday of every month. The library has a large selection of book club kits for the group to choose from. Each kit contains 10 copies of the book and\, in most cases\, a list of possible discussion topics. At the end of each session\, the group will choose and receive a copy of the book to be discussed the following month. Each member is responsible for returning their copy of the book at the following meet-up before receiving the new one. \nPlease note all books MUST be returned together. Please do not return the book directly to the library. \nIf you are new to the group or unable to attend a session\, you can always source your own copy of the book to be discussed. The title of the next book to be discussed is available on the event listing. \nWho can come? \nWe ask that anyone interested in joining\, sign up to become a Belong Club member. This way we have everyone’s details to make sure the book is returned on time to avoid any late fees. If you are not yet a member\, please sign up here – https://proveda.com.au/community-programs/belong-club/. \nSpots are limited to a maximum of 10 people so get in quick. \nWhat happens if I can’t make it to return the book? \nYou will need to contact us in advance to let us know you can’t make it. Each member is responsible for returning their copy of the book before receiving the new one. \nCar Parking: Free 3 hour parking is available in the Westfield Warringah Mall car park. The library is located on Level 2 of the mall\, with the direct access from the Yellow Car Park Rooftop (P5)\, entry via Old Pittwater Road. The library is spread across one floor and has an accessible entrance. The closest disability amenities are available on the ground floor below Warringah Mall Library and accessible via the lift near Hoyts Cinema. \n\n\n	\n	\n	\n	\n \n\n \n \n Registrations are closed for this event \n \n \n\n\n\n\nAbout the host \nVal is a driven\, community-minded individual with a love for reading\, gardening\, walking and board games. Val loves all kinds of books – from historical fiction\, to fantasy\, to modern realist books. \nA major part of Val’s life at the moment is Curly Community Garden\, a garden she’s been heavily involved with since its inception in 2016. Her favourite part of the garden is the way it brings together so many people from the community and gives joy to many peoples’ lives – from garden members to passers by. \nVal loves walking\, and you can often see her on her favourite walking routes between Dee Why and Freshwater. She also likes to explore other parts of the great outdoors on family outings with her two adult children and husband. \nAt home\, Val and her family love to play board and card games\, and have a huge collection that takes up a few shelves of their storage closet. \n
