DESCRIPTION:The Seasons for Growth Loss and Grief  \nSeasons for Growth Loss and Grief is an innovative\, evidence-based change\, loss and grief education program developed by the McKillop Family Services. This workshop draws on the metaphor of the seasons to understand the experience of grief. It builds the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of adults who are dealing with significant life changes by: \n\nUnderstanding what grief is\nUnderstanding grief reactions\nExploring the impact of change and loss\n\n\nLearning about effective ways to respond and adapt to these changes\nHow to empower your own strength to move forward\nThe way forward\, including useful strategies and support networks\n\nParticipants learn that they are not alone in their experience of change\, loss and grief\, and are able to build their communication\, decision making and problem-solving skills within the context of a safe and supportive peer group learning environment. \nPlease note\, due to the short timeframe that we will have together\, we will not delve into personal grief. However\, this is a safe space to explore and discuss grief and reactions more generally. \n\n\nAbout the Host\nHannah is an accredited social worker who works in the mental health team at Proveda. She has had experience across the aged care and disability sectors. Hannah is passionate about holistic wellbeing and providing safe spaces for clients to express themselves and connect.

She is passionate about the role nutrition can play in improving our physical health\, mental health\, gut health\, overall wellbeing\, and chronic disease risk and management. \nCaris \nCaris graduated from Sheffield Hallam University (UK) and has a background in neurorehabilitation and acute surgical/cardiorespiratory care. Caris is excited to bring her expertise to Australia and explore new specialties and healthcare systems while sharing international best practices. From cultivating mindfulness to nurturing healthy habits\, we’ll explore actionable steps aimed at empowering you to prioritise your health and happiness effectively. \nAbout the speakers \nSimone Eckert \nSimone’s role is within the Way Back team. Simone holds qualifications in sociology\, psychology\, and counselling and has a longstanding career in the community services sector across a diverse range of roles. Passion and purpose define her work. Simone is a strong believer in the power of self-care\, walking the path of self-care and self-compassion as she believes that we cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own. \nHarriet Buddo \nHarried has studied Business Administration and Psychology and has been working at Proveda for just under three years. Harriet works in the mental health team from Monday to Thursday\, and in the Belong Club on Friday. Her favourite part about her job is working with people. Some things she does for self-care include drinking coffee\, running\, spending time with friends and family\, cuddling her dog Maisy\, reading\, and going to the beach.
