SUMMARY:Dying to Know Day x Go Gentle Australia Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Go Gentle Australia is delighted to invite you to join us at the webinar: \nThe perfect goodbye: Hosting a living wake in the age of voluntary assisted dying. \nWhat are the benefits of planning your final goodbye? How creative can I be? How do I have these conversations with family and friends? \nVoluntary assisted dying (VAD)\, which gives eligible terminally ill people the choice of a medically assisted death\, is empowering Australians to better plan for their final days. \nSome people decide to say their last goodbyes at a living wake\, such as Nigel Taimanu who had an assisted death in December after a terminal cancer diagnosis. \nHear from Nigel’s partner Kathryn about the significance of that special and emotional day\, along with insights from funeral director Ben Gibson and VAD practitioner Dr Bu O’Brien\, at this free Dying to Know Day webinar hosted by Go Gentle Australia’s CEO Dr Linda Swan.

SUMMARY:Painting Workshop - Part One
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to part one of our painting workshop where Paola will demonstrate how to work through painting a Platypus. This can be done with acrylics\, pastels or even fine crayons. \nPaint a vivid\, colourful Platypus as Paola guides you through a variety of accessible materials. Build dimensional form as you create your own unique bird image. Learn to depict distinctive fur texture and bring the excitement of vibrant wildlife to life. Paola will be happy to answer any questions you have to get started or move forward on your painting journey. \nYou can finish off the painting with Paola in the second workshop. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift for a friend’s birthday\, or you want to indulge in a fun activity\, or try a new art project or painting style from the comfort and convenience of your home. You’ll finish feeling creatively inspired\, and ready to keep practicing your new skills. \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter – Paola Matthews\nPaola is an emerging artist\, based in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Paola is self-taught and proficient in both pastels and acrylics. She enjoys bringing movement to canvas and her favourite subjects are animals (especially soulful horses)\, musicians in the midst of playing\, and wind or moving water. Paola’s vision is to entice the audience to feel the movement and allow it to resonate within. \nPaola has been exhibited for a charity initiative that partnered with the United Nations Association of Australia and has also exhibited in local establishments. Paola was also commissioned by SBS for two portrait paintings\, which were then exhibited for a series on “Inspirational Women”. One of Paola’s paintings was chosen for “Cabaret in the Glen”\, the art exhibition in 2017. \n\nYou can view\, or purchase\, Paola’s artworks at Daranem Shop | Redbubble.
