From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government will introduce the Support at Home program—a major reform to in-home aged care designed to simplify, strengthen and personalise the support available to older Australians. Replacing the existing Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs, this new model aims to help older people live independently at home for longer, with access to tailored services, assistive technologies, and short-term care pathways.
Proveda recently hosted an informative webinar to discuss the upcoming changes. During the session, we explored what to expect for those already receiving a Home Care Package, including changes to support levels, funding, and the services participants may have been eligible for. For individuals beginning their journey into aged care, or those exploring options for a loved one, we provided guidance to help navigate the new system and understand what to expect.
