H&I: Self-Care for People Living with Dementia and Their Carers
Caring for someone living with dementia is a journey filled with love, patience, and often, emotional and physical strain. At the same time, people living with dementia also benefit greatly from routines and practices that support their wellbeing.
During Dementia Action Week and in the lead-up to Mental Health Month, join us for this special event designed to support both people living with dementia and their carers, offering practical self-care strategies that can improve quality of life, reduce stress, and foster connection.
Led by Proveda’s experienced dementia consultant, this session will explore how small, meaningful actions can make a big difference in daily life for both the carer and the person they support.
What We’ll Cover:
- Understanding the emotional toll of caregiving and how to manage it
- Simple self-care routines for people living with dementia
- Mindfulness and relaxation techniques for carers
- Building moments of joy and connection into daily routines
- Accessing support systems and community resources
- Encouraging independence and dignity through self-care
Who Should Attend:
- Family carers and support workers
- People living with early-stage dementia
- Health and aged care professionals
- Anyone interested in dementia-friendly wellbeing practices
This is a safe, inclusive space to learn, reflect, and connect with others who understand the journey. You’ll leave with practical tools and renewed energy to care for yourself and others.
