Join the Belong Book Club once a month to discuss, and share your passion of reading with like minded people in your community.
This month’s book: The Spill, by Imbe Neeme
Please Note: At the end of each session, you will be provided with a physical copy of the book to be discussed and returned at the following session. Alternately, you can source your own physical copy of the book.
How does it work?
The Belong Book Club will meet at Warringah Library on the second Monday of every month. The library has a large selection of book club kits for the group to choose from. Each kit contains 10 copies of the book and, in most cases, a list of possible discussion topics. At the end of each session, the group will choose and receive a copy of the book to be discussed the following month. Each member is responsible for returning their copy of the book at the following meet-up before receiving the new one.
Please note all books MUST be returned together. Please do not return the book directly to the library.
If you are new to the group or unable to attend a session, you can always source your own copy of the book to be discussed. The title of the next book to be discussed is available on the event listing.
Who can come?
We ask that anyone interested in joining, sign up to become a Belong Club member. This way we have everyone’s details to make sure the book is returned on time to avoid any late fees. If you are not yet a member, please sign up here – https://proveda.com.au/community-programs/belong-club/.
Spots are limited to a maximum of 10 people so get in quick.
What happens if I can’t make it to return the book?
You will need to contact us in advance to let us know you can’t make it. Each member is responsible for returning their copy of the book before receiving the new one.
Car Parking: Free 3 hour parking is available in the Westfield Warringah Mall car park. The library is located on Level 2 of the mall, with the direct access from the Yellow Car Park Rooftop (P5), entry via Old Pittwater Road. The library is spread across one floor and has an accessible entrance. The closest disability amenities are available on the ground floor below Warringah Mall Library and accessible via the lift near Hoyts Cinema.
About the host
Val is a driven, community-minded individual with a love for reading, gardening, walking and board games. Val loves all kinds of books – from historical fiction, to fantasy, to modern realist books.
A major part of Val’s life at the moment is Curly Community Garden, a garden she’s been heavily involved with since its inception in 2016. Her favourite part of the garden is the way it brings together so many people from the community and gives joy to many peoples’ lives – from garden members to passers by.
Val loves walking, and you can often see her on her favourite walking routes between Dee Why and Freshwater. She also likes to explore other parts of the great outdoors on family outings with her two adult children and husband.
At home, Val and her family love to play board and card games, and have a huge collection that takes up a few shelves of their storage closet.
