Newcastle Compassionate Community Stall at Lake Macquarie 2026 Living Smart Festival
Held on the traditional lands of the Awabakal People, the Living Smart Festival is one of Australia’s largest community sustainability events. Its mission is to encourage people to learn about and embrace everyday sustainability practices. Now in its 15th year, Lake Macquarie’s largest free community event is on Saturday 19 September at Speers Point Park. This flagship event attracts more than 15,000 attendees to our region.
The festival’s relaxed vibe encourages visitors to engage with local artists, enjoy local produce from a variety of food trucks and take part in community-led activities.
We are so pleased to be invited back again this year to share our Compassionate Community social movement encouraging and engaging communities to think about how care is provided to people who are dying, while increasing death literacy and helping others Start a Conversation about death, dying and grief.
This year, you’ll find us in the Community Section.
Our first Death Cafe of the day is scheduled for 10:30am, additionally, all our partners are invited to drop in and join in with the many wonderful conversation’s we know will be happening.
A beautiful sunny day is forecast, what better way to spend the day, by the lake, with a light breeze, surrounded by Living Smart minded people, we can’t wait!
