Welcome Dinner Project – Facilitator Training
Help Create Connection, Belonging and Lasting Friendships
Through the Belong Club Welcome Dinner Program, we will bring newly arrived migrants, older local residents and people experiencing social isolation together over shared meals, culture and conversation. As a facilitator, you’ll play an important role in helping people feel welcomed, included and connected from the moment they arrive.
This is a wonderful opportunity to develop valuable facilitation and communication skills while helping build a more connected and inclusive community.
Training will cover:
- The Welcome Dinner model and philosophy
- Creating welcoming and inclusive environments
- Facilitating conversations and connections
- Cultural awareness and inclusion
- Supporting people experiencing social isolation
- Practical facilitation techniques
- Safety and participant wellbeing
- Pathways into Belong Club
No previous facilitation experience is required. We’re looking for warm, friendly people who enjoy connecting with others and helping people feel like they belong.
Limited Places Available
We have received an overwhelming amount of interest in this opportunity, which is fantastic to see.
To ensure a quality learning experience, training places are limited to 18 participants.
Places will be allocated on a first registered, first served basis, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible if you would like to be considered.
Once all 18 places have been filled, additional registrations will be placed on a waitlist.
